I Am There

“I am in every religion as the thread runs through a garland of pearls. Wherever thou seest extraordinary holiness and extraordinary power uplifting and purifying Mankind, know thou that I am there.”

– The Bhagavad Gita

In A Nutshell

“Do not be led by others,
awaken your own mind,
amass your own experiences,
and decide for yourself your own path.”

– The Atharva Veda

The Wise Grieve Not…

The wise grieve neither for the living nor for the dead. There has never been a time when you and I and the kings gathered here have not existed, nor will there be a time when we will cease to exist.

As the same person inhabits the body through childhood, youth, and old age, so too at the time of death he attains another body. The wise are not deluded by these changes.

Bhagavad Gita 2:12-13

The Supreme Reality…

The Supreme Reality stands revealed in the consciousness of those who have conquered themselves. They live in peace, alike in cold and heat, pleasure and pain, praise and blame.

Bhagavad Gita 6:7

Indeed A Shame…

“No man should be an amateur in the matter of physical training. What a disgrace it is for a man to grow old without ever knowing the strength and beauty his body is capable of” – Socrates.

Uurrrgh!

So Friday was supposed to be my mom’s operation date. We took her to the hospital Thursday. Gave her big pep talk…lots of love and encouragement and did our best to allay her fears. She was to be in the hands of an excellent surgeon who only operates there on Friday…

On Friday we woke really early to arrive there before sunrise even, to spend the time with her before the operation. And then we find our some hours later it has been deferred (I refused to say put off/cancelled because it will make me madder) until the next Friday because the air conditioning in the operating rooms failed. Given the kind of  summer we have been having…I am not surprised.

Sure it won’t take more than a few hours to fix the AC…but the surgeon is only there on the Fridays…so now we have to wait another week. Man, we were all disappointed. I sure hope it goes smoothly this Friday. Thanks to everyone who wished us well. 🙂

Stroke Warning Signs

If you or anyone around you experiences any of these signs, please get medical help immediately. Mitigation of cerebro-vascular accident (stroke) damage is incredibly time sensitive. To your health.

Back Again…

So I’m back again after a long absence. School and exams had been taking their toll, hence the vanishing without a trace. I’m back home in Georgia now to be with my family for a couple weeks. Maybe more depending. My mom is scheduled for an operation on Friday and depending on how things go I might decide to take a leave of absence from school for a few months. So I might have some more time to blog. 🙂
